COUNT, COUNTA and COUNTIF
Count the cells that hold a number, the cells that hold anything, or only the cells that pass a test such as more than 10.
Task 1COUNT and COUNTA4 questions
Two functions count cells in place of adding them up.
- =COUNT(B2:B7)
- how many cells hold a number
- =COUNTA(B2:B7)
- how many cells are not empty, whatever they hold
A cell that holds 0 holds a number, so both count it. A cell that holds text is counted by COUNTA only.
