A supplier bills in euros, but the books are kept in pounds. Use an exchange rate to turn one into the other, and know when to multiply or divide.
Task 1Pounds into euros2 questions
- Exchange rate
- how much of another currency you get for £1
A rate is written as £1 = €1.16. It means £1 buys €1.16. Rates change every day, so a question always gives the rate.
To turn pounds into euros, multiply the pounds by the rate.
Worked example: £200 at £1 = €1.16. 200 × 1.16 = €232.
