How to convert minutes into decimal hours
A timesheet shows hours and minutes, but pay is worked out in hours. Turn minutes into a decimal of an hour, and back again.

An hour has 60 minutes. To turn minutes into a decimal of an hour, divide the minutes by 60.
Worked example: 7 hours 45 minutes. 45 ÷ 60 = 0.75. So the shift is 7.75 hours.
It is not 7.45. The figures after the point are parts of an hour, not minutes.
