How to sort and filter a list
Put a list in order without mixing up its rows, show only the rows you want, and total just the rows on show.

Sorting puts the rows of a list in order: A to Z, smallest to largest, or oldest to newest. Sort the whole list, never one column on its own, or each amount ends up beside the wrong customer.

Tell the spreadsheet that row 1 is a header row, and it stays at the top. In Excel and in Google Sheets, sorting is on the Data menu.
