How to write up a sales day book with VAT
Each invoice for a credit sale gets one line in the sales day book: net, VAT and gross. Write up the lines and total the columns.
Task 1One line for each invoice3 questions
The sales day book is a list of the invoices sent to credit customers, in the order they were raised. It is a book of prime entry: the first place a sale is written down.
Each invoice gets one line, with three money columns: net, VAT and gross.
On 3 July Larkfield Ceramics sends invoice 3201 to Juniper Gifts. Its net total is £330.
Cash sales are not entered here. Nor are credit notes, which have a day book of their own.
