Confidentiality and integrity
Be honest in every figure and keep what you learn at work to yourself. Practise both on the situations an accounts assistant meets.
Task 1Integrity2 questions
People who work in accounts are expected to follow five ethical principles. This room covers two of them.
- Integrity
- being straightforward and honest in all work
- Confidentiality
- not passing on, or using, information learned at work
The other three are objectivity, professional competence and due care, and professional behaviour.
Integrity also means not putting your name to figures you know are false or misleading, whoever asks.
