Task 1Common coding mistakes3 questions
A wrong code puts a cost in the wrong place. The total spent is still right, but the report for each centre is wrong.
- The wrong centre: an Office cost coded to Cutting
- The wrong type: indirect materials coded as direct materials
- Digits swapped: 210 typed as 120
- A code that is not on the code list
If you cannot tell how to code something, ask your supervisor or the person who placed the order. Never guess.
