How to chase a late payment
An invoice past its due date needs chasing, politely and in steps. Work out how late each invoice is and what to do next.
This path is practice in how the records and the sums work. It is not tax advice. Any rate or allowance in a question is an example for that question, so check GOV.UK for the current figures.
Task 1How late is it4 questions
An invoice is overdue once its due date has passed. To see how late it is, count the days from the due date to today.
| Invoice | Customer | Amount | Due date |
|---|---|---|---|
| 0054 | Quay Bakery | 360.00 | 23 June |
| 0055 | Alder Dental | 800.00 | 2 June |
| 0056 | Marsh Lane Yoga | 275.00 | 5 July |
| 0057 | Holt Cycles | 140.00 | 16 June |
The older the debt, the more urgent it is. Chase the oldest and the largest first.
