How an analysed cash book works
Extra columns sort every receipt and payment by type. Total the columns, then cross-cast them to prove the adding up.
Task 1Columns that sort the money3 questions
An analysed cash book has extra columns. Each amount is written twice on its row: once in the Bank column, and once in the column for its type.
- Trade payables
- payments to suppliers for goods bought on credit
- Wages
- pay for the staff
- Other expenses
- everything else, such as rent and fuel
At the end of the month each column is added up. One total is then posted to the ledger, not every line.
